About National Carl Garner Federal Lands Cleanup Day

DESCRIPTION:
Carl Garner Federal Lands Cleanup Day raises awareness of the need to clean up federal lands, including recreational areas and waterways, from human-caused pollution.
What started as a citizen-led cleanup organized by Carl Garner has since morphed into a movement. Local retailers participate by hosting lunches for volunteers and providing supplies.
The Carl Garner Federal Lands Cleanup day is supported by the Federal Lands Cleanup Act, which was later renamed the Carl Garner Federal Lands Cleanup in honor of his contribution.
