DESCRIPTION:
First Response Coalition began lobbying Congress to recognize first responders with a day of honor in 2006. Each year, Congress reaffirms the date through House and Senate resolutions. Currently, nearly five million people work as first responders in the United States. Careers include Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue Services, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management, and Public Works.
