Tater Day could be referred to as trade day, as it began in 1843 in Kentucky as a means for farmers to trade seeds, roots, and sweet potatoes with each other before the next planting season. It expanded to various products and services, including arms, livestock, and animal pelts. Tater Day is the oldest and longest-running trade day in the United States.
