Created in 2012, International Haiku Poetry Day occurs during National Poetry Month. Haiku is an ancient form of Japanese poetry that is short and appears on one line in Japanese and three in English. It includes kuru, morae, and kigo. For examples of Haiku, see The Haiku Foundation.
