DESCRIPTION:
World Circus Day celebrates the traditional circus arts and presentations found throughout the world. Circuses have been a part of modern culture since the Roman Empire, and the current version with a big top began in 18th-century France. In the 1970s, the circus moved more toward performance art, the most famous being Cirque de Sole. World Circus Day first ran in 2009.
