DESCRIPTION:
Daniel Boone commemorates the legendary frontiersman who discovered the state of Kentucky on June 7, 1769. Boone paved the way for the settlement of Kentucky and Virginia.
Daniel Boone founded Boonesborough, one of the earliest American settlements in Kentucky. His route helped colonists settle in the Appalachian mountains. Later, he became a militiaman, dying of natural causes at 85.
