DESCRIPTION:
Orca Awareness Month is a Washington State initiative designed to raise awareness of conservation needs and focus on the unique attributes of one of the ocean's most intelligent creatures. Also known as 'killer wales,' orcas rely on salmon and other sea life for their diets. This month brings together researchers, advocates, and orca fans to raise awareness of the threats to these magnificent whales.
This event first ran in 2006.
