National Therapeutic Recreation Week is observed in the second week of July since 1984 in the United States. The National Therapeutic Recreation Society, a National Recreation and Park Association division, champions the event.
The campaign raises awareness of the therapeutic programs that aid in improving the health and wellness of individuals with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities.
