Lughnasadh is a Gaelic festival that marks the beginning of the harvest season with a blessing and celebration.
Celebrated by the Irish, Scottish, and those living on the Isle of Man, Lughnasadh or Lughnasadh occurs halfway between the autumnal equinox and the summer solstice, which falls on August 1. Typically the celebration begins the day before on the evening of July 31.
Lughnasadh is one of the four seasonal festivals of Gaelic tradition.
