National Peach Pie Day celebrates the peach pie, made with sugar, cinnamon, butter, and peaches, then covered in a flaky crust.
Harvested between June and August are the two best-known varieties of peaches, the Clingstone and the Freestone, most often used. Peaches originated in China.
National Peach Pie day is celebrated across the country in restaurants. The Washington House in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, promotes this day with free mini peach pies to those with reservations.
