About the World Memorial Day for Road Traffic Victims

DESCRIPTION:
World Road Traffic Victims Memorial Day is held on the third Sunday of November. This day honors the victims and surviving families of road accidents the world over, and it bestows gratitude to the first responders who save lives.
Road victim organizations under the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims began observing World Road Traffic Victims Memorial Day in 1995.
By 2000, the Pope, NGOs, and other organizations had begun to commemorate victims of traffic fatalities on the third Sunday of November, calling the occasion World Day. October 26, 2005, the UN General Assembly acknowledged it as a World Day.
