Read an E-book Week is celebrated on the first whole week of March to promote reading e-books and the fantastic benefits they bring to the reading experience.
With the explosion of tablets, e-books have risen in popularity over the past 15 years. They've been around since the beginning of the internet, first published as Word Documents and PDFs.
Today e-books require programming skills to lay them out on multiple platforms available. Apple requires one format, Kindle another, and Nook yet another. The platform is still evolving, but what is clear is that e-books are here to stay.
Many e-book distributors online have specials this month, allowing you to try an e-book if you've never read one or pick up something that interests you.
