Created in 2012 by Alzheimer’s Disease International, a UK-based charity, World Alzheimer’s Month™ is an international campaign designed to raise awareness of this terrifying disease and challenge its stigma. The month seeks to assist people in learning how to spot the signs of dementia, support loved ones with dementia, and mourn those who have passed away.
Dementia can be present in the brain for up to 25 years before symptoms appear.
