One in a thousand people in the world has a bleeding disorder. One in five thousand has hemophilia in particular. Those numbers may sound small for some or huge for others, but this means that of the 7 billion people living on Earth at the moment, 7 million have a bleeding disorder and most of them are not diagnosed and do not receive any treatment.
That's why each year we have Bleeding Disorders Week (formerly Hemophilia Awareness Week) in Australia to raise awareness of what it means to have hemophilia and how to deal with it.
