DESCRIPTION:
Sweetest Day was created decades ago by Herbert Birch Kingston of Cleveland, Ohio as a way to bring cheer to orphans, the elderly, shut-ins and the sick. He would go door-to-door delivering candy and treats and a bit of cheer. His efforts were noticed elsewhere and other cities and states picked up the tradition.
Today is a day for paying attention to those often ignored or forgotten by society. Go out of your way to make today the sweetest day of the year for someone by showing a little kindness and a smile.
