Based upon the 10 Principles of Fair Trade and 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Anti-Poverty Week in Australia seeks to:
Strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and hardship around the world and in Australia; and
Encourage research, discussion and action to address these problems, including action by individuals, communities, organisations and governments.
The Australian Anti-poverty Week falls during the week of the United Nation's International Anti-poverty Day on October 17 each year.
