DESCRIPTION:
Magha Puja, M_gha P_j_, Makha Bucha or the Full Moon of Tabodwe is a Buddhist holy day celebrated at the full moon during the month of M_gha in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar. It celebrates the anniversary of the gathering of 1250 disciples with the Buddha, absent an invitation in 531BC.
Magha Puja is a public holiday. Observant Buddhist refrain from sinning and spend the day purifying their minds and souls.
