DESCRIPTION:
Sweetest Day was created decades ago by Herbert Birch Kingston of Cleveland, Ohio, to bring cheer to orphans, the elderly, shut-ins, and the sick. Kingston would go door-to-door, delivering candy, treats, and a bit of joy. Other cities and states picked up the tradition.
Today is a day to give attention to those often ignored or forgotten by society. Go out of your way to make today the sweetest day of the year for someone by showing a little kindness and a smile.
