Will Eisner Week is an annual celebration promoting comics, graphic novel literacy, free speech and the legacy of Will Eisner (March 6, 1917 - January 3, 2005). Eisner pioneered the use of graphic novels to teach complex subjects. He's best known for The Spirit (1940s), A Contract with God, and Other Tenement Stories (1978) and The Plot: The Secret Story of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (2005).
This week, which includes his birthday, honors his contributions to the graphic novel. Annually celebrated since 2010.
