DESCRIPTION:
10th Anniversary. March 15, 2011 is the day on which the Syria Uprising erupted.
Starting as a pro-democracy series of protests, then escalating into an outright civil war a year later, the conflict increased in intensity and brutality, ultimately creating a humanitarian crisis of biblical proportions and setting Europeans against each other on immigration.
At the time of this writing, the conflict has yet to be resolved and now includes international intervention via major world powers including the United States and Russia.
