Cheese Lover's Day celebrates cheese.
Cheese appears to be one of those foods that no one quite knows where it came from. All regions of the world have it. It can be made out of milk from any animal. The legend is that an Arabian traveler accidentally created it when he stored milk in a sheep’s stomach pouch. It separated into curds and whey and he decided he liked it. From Arabia it spread to Europe. From Europe, it traveled with the pilgrims to the New World.
Today 1/3 of the milk produced in the US each year goes to create cheese.
This is an unofficial holiday with no sponsor.
