Child Inventor’s Day marks the anniversary of Benjamin Franklin’s birth January 17, 1706. Franklin completed his first invention at the age of 11 in 1717, (a set of swimming fins for the hands).
By the age of 17, Franklin became a publisher and would go on to become one of the founders of the United States, a prolific writer and inventor.
On this day children are encouraged to reach for their dreams by experimenting, trying new ideas and looking at things in a different way.
