Winston Churchill Day celebrates the anniversary of April 9, 1963, when President John F Kennedy bestowed an honorary US Citizenship on the former leader of Great Britain, Sir Winston Churchill. It is a rare occasion. Only the Marquis de LaFayette, a French national who helped the United States win its independence from Britain during the American Revolution, has received this honor.
