Hug a Medievalist Day celebrates the work of historians who study and teach us about the period of time referred to as the Medieval Period or Middle Ages. The period covers 1,000 years beginning with the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th Century and the beginning of the Renaissance in the 15th Century.
