About Frozen Yogurt Day

DESCRIPTION:
Originally called Frogurt, HP Hood invented frozen yogurt in 1970. With the health food craze of the 1970s, it quickly gained popularity as an alternative to ice cream. In the 1980s, seizing upon the demand and opportunity, the TCBY chain of frozen yogurt stores opened. By 1986, frozen yogurt had become a 25 million-dollar-a-year industry, and in 2019 it became a 2.1 billion-dollar industry.
Frozen Yogurt Day celebrates this dessert treat. Many retailers and restaurants will offer free samples on this day.
