DESCRIPTION:
Children's Day is also referred to as National Sovereignty Day in Turkey and marks the creation of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the day Turkey became a sovereign nation following the fall of the Ottoman Empire. This day was first celebrated in 1929. In 1979, the United Nations adopted this day as International Children's Day.
