D.A.R.E. is a comprehensive K-12 education program, which originated in 1983. Its goal is to teach students about drugs, violence, bullying, internet safety, and other high risk situations that may become a part of their lives.
D.A.R.E. is taught in thousands of schools in the U.S. and in 52 other countries around the globe.
National D.A.R.E. Day is observed each year on the third Thursday of April. It celebrates the contributions and accomplishments of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, its graduates, officers, schools and law enforcement agencies.
