DESCRIPTION:
Gangaur is a colorful festival in Rajasthan, India.
This festival is associated with Parvati, also known as Gauri, the wife of Lord Shiva. Unmarried women worship her in hopes of being blessed with a good husband. Married women worship her for the welfare, health and long life of their husbands as well as insurance for a happy marriage.
The festival commences on the first day of Chaitra, the day following Holi, and continues for 16 days.
