About the Orthodox Christian Holy Day of Great Friday

DESCRIPTION:
Great Friday in Orthodox Christianity is its most solemn observance. This is the day Jesus Christ was tortured and crucified.
The date of the year is different, based on the day of Easter, which is based upon the first full moon of Spring.
Great Friday can occur ion different days as well, depending upon which form of Christianity Orthodox or Western. This is due with which calendar is used: the Julian Calendar (created by Julius Cesar 2000 years ago) versus the Gregorian Calendar instituted in the 1750s (and created by the Roman Catholic Pope, who Orthodox Christians do not follow).
Easter and Good/Great Friday usually come a couple of weeks later in the Orthodox faiths when compared to Catholicism and mainline Protestant faiths.
