About Mad Hatter Day: October 6

Mad Hatter Day occurs on October 6 (10/6) each year in the US and June 10 (10/6) in the United Kingdom.
The day is a hat tip to illustrator Jogn Tenniel's interpretation of the Mad Hatter in Louis Carrol's Alice Through the Looking Glass (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland). In his illustrations, the Mad Hatter always wears a hat with a slip of paper that says "In this style 10/6".
In the United Kingdom, Mad Hatter Day is celebrated on June 10, as Europeans read dates differently than Americans, with the day first and the month second.
Who's right? Who cares! Americans celebrate this day as a "Second April's Fool's Day" each October, and the Brits quietly disagree, preferring to celebrate in June.
