National Chemistry Week is a community-based program of the American Chemical Society (ACS) that unites businesses, schools, and individuals around the importance of chemistry to quality of life.
The mission is to reach elementary and secondary school children. These objectives include:
1) Make a positive change in the public's impression of chemistry;
2) Promote a mechanism for effectively mobilizing ACS local sections; and
3) Motivate the ACS membership through local section activities.
This event premiered in 1987.
