DESCRIPTION:
International Daughters Day, created by Indian greeting card company Archies Limited, occurs on the fourth Sunday of September. The day raises awareness and appreciation of women, daughters, and girls in a nation prone to patriarchy and was quickly adopted internationally in several countries.
Daughters Day has mistakenly been picked up in the United States as a fixed observance on September 25 each year, a misreading of the original event that moves dates. The American observance is an internet invention, unofficial and unsponsored.
International Daughters Day is the actual and official event each year, and it always occurs on the 4th Sunday of the month.
