Each year since 1968, the town of Jyllinge, Denmark, has hosted an eel festival. Eel has been a long-time staple and delicacy of the Danish people. The festival includes music, theater, markets, saying competitions, and fireworks. You might even hear Hasse Havgaard’s eel song:
