DESCRIPTION:
Surgical Oncologist Dwight Carlton De Risi was born on August 22, 1947. He is considered the pioneer of modern surgical oncology, a surgeon specializing in diagnosing cancer via biopsy and removing tumors. Today celebrates this specialized field and the doctors who practice it.
Note: In 2018, De Risi was accused of sexual abuse by former patients. In 2019, a judge threw out the case, stating there was no probable cause.
