National Stuttering Awareness Week in the United States builds awareness of stuttering. More than 70 million people worldwide and three million in the United States struggle with stuttering daily. "This week is a time for us to remind the world that people who stutter can achieve amazing things," said Jane Fraser, president of the Stuttering Foundation. "Unfortunately, we still live in a world that allows stuttering to be mocked and ridiculed. The end result is that countless children who stutter face teasing and torment at school just because they speak differently." Despite the great strides afforded the stuttering community by the movie "The King's Speech" and its accurate and moving portrayal of the effects of a severe stutter, Hollywood portrayed people who stutter in a negative light for decades, as deranged, violent, or otherwise incompatible with the social norm. Some of these movies over the years have been Dead Again, My Cousin Vinny, Urban Legend, and Primal Fear. One of the lead characters in the original mini-series of Stephen King's "It" also struggles with a stutter. The Grenada Chocolate Festival began in 2013 on the island of Grenada in the Caribbean. Activities include “Dance the Cocoa,” (moving your feet) over the cocoa beans in large bowl-shaped containers to shell them. The festival allows visitors to chocolatier a real-life cocoa plantation and enjoy cooking demos, chocolate-making demos, and plenty of chocolate tastings. It’s a festival of culinary delight and a chocolate lover’s paradise.

PGA Championship: May 13-19

The PGA Championship began in 1918. This major golf tournament draws the world's best professional golfers and is the year's final major. The US PGA was an offshoot of the United States Golf Association (USGA), the first official golf organization in the country, formed in 1894. Its advocacy played a crucial role in making golf one of the most popular sports in the US.

The PGA was established in February 1916 following a luncheon hosted by Rodman Wanamaker at the Wykagyl Country Club. The first tournament was held at the Siwanoy Country Club in New York in October 1916. The winner, Jim Barnes, was awarded a gold medal with diamond studs and $500 in cash.

Theodor Herzl Day is a day of commemoration in Israel that honors the life and legacy of Theodor Herzl, who is widely regarded as the father of modern political Zionism. The holiday is observed annually on the tenth of Iyar, the Hebrew date of Herzl's death, which usually falls in May. Theodor Herzl was an Austro-Hungarian journalist and playwright who became a passionate advocate for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. He first became involved in the Zionist movement in the late 19th century, and he later played a key role in organizing the First Zionist Congress, which was held in Basel, Switzerland, in 1897. Herzl's vision for a Jewish state in Palestine was based on the idea of political Zionism, which called for the creation of a Jewish homeland through political means, rather than through religious or cultural ties. Herzl's efforts to promote the Zionist cause helped to galvanize the Jewish community around the world, and his work laid the foundation for the eventual establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. Herzl died in 1904 at the age of 44, and he is buried in Jerusalem. Theodor Herzl Day was established as a national holiday in Israel in 2007, in recognition of Herzl's pivotal role in the establishment of the State of Israel. On this day, various events and activities are held throughout Israel to commemorate Herzl's legacy and to promote the ideals of Zionism. Many schools and educational institutions hold programs and events that focus on Herzl's life and work, and his contributions to the Zionist movement.

Boys & Girls Club Day is an annual celebration of the over 150-year-old history of Boys and Girls clubs across the country. Concerned for the welfare of boys left to roam the streets in 1860, three women from Hartford, Conn. - Mary Goodwin, Alice Goodwin, and Elizabeth Hammersley created a program to educate and entertain the youth, and it worked! Not only did their club flourish, but other communities emulated their success. In 1906 Boys Clubs from across the country joined, and the Boys Club Federation of America was born. Today is the anniversary of the 1906 creation of the Boys Club Federation of America. In 1990 the name was changed to Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Devil's Food is the first chocolate cake ever marketed as a cake mix by the Duff Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the 1930s. The first recipe for the cake was published in 1905. Essentially, Devil's Food cake is a dense dark chocolate cake, usually baked in a Bundt cake tin or as a layer cake, with a rich flavor that is not overly sweet. It can be served with a glaze, frosting, or without either. Devil's Food cake is the grandmother of the popular red velvet cake, the original which gained its red color through chemistry (interaction of acid (sour milk), alkali (baking soda), and non-alkalized unsweetened chocolate. The combination creates a blood-red color in the cake. Today, food coloring is typically used. Devil's Food Cake Day is an unofficial holiday with no sponsor.

The Italian Grand Prix is a Formula One event at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza near Milan, Italy, since 1950, making it one of the oldest and most prestigious races on the Formula One calendar. The Autodromo Nazionale di Monza is a high-speed circuit with long straights and tight chicanes, which provide a unique challenge to drivers and teams.

The course is 5.793 km (3.6 miles) long and features 11 turns, with the top speeds reaching 360 km/h (224 mph) in the straights. Mohini Ekadashi is a Hindu fast to free the soul from illusion. It is believed that whomsoever observes a total fast on this sacred day will collect future benefits and live happily in this life and the next. Hindus believe in reincarnation. Adherence to this day's customs is thought to release one from suffering and misery. Lord Krishna states that "There is no place of pilgrimage, no sacrifice, and no charity that can bestow merit equal to even one sixteenth of the merit a faithful devotee of Mine obtains by observing Mohini Ekadashi; and he who hears and studies the glories of Mohini Ekadashi achieves the merit of giving away one thousand cows in charity." The Hindu word "Ekadashi" refers to the eleventh day of the waxing and waning lunar phases in the Hindu calendar, a sacred day for Hindu devotees observed as a day of fasting, prayer, and spiritual purification. The word "Ekadashi" is derived from the Sanskrit language, where "eka" means "one" and "dashi" means "ten." " Put together, Ekadashi" means "the eleventh," referring to the eleventh day of each lunar phase. There are 24 Ekadashi days in the Hindu lunar year, with each Ekadashi having its significance and associated rituals. Pentecost (or Whitsunday) is a Christian observance celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit into the disciples of Jesus Christ following His ascension to heaven (Easter). It is always held on the seventh Sunday after Easter and coincides with the Jewish festival of Shavuoth. Pentecost marks the beginning of the Christian faith as an official movement in 33AD. In the Commonwealth countries, Pentecost is often called Whitsun or Whit. Its significance to Christians can be paralleled with the Holy Month of Ramadan in the Islamic faith and the receipt of the Decalogue in Judaism. In all instances, the disciples (Christian) and prophets (Islam and Judaism) received instruction and word from God/Holy Spirit, defining the basis of the faith.

The Premier League is the top level of the English football league system. It is contested by 20 clubs and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL). Seasons run from August to May with each team playing 38 matches (playing all 19 other teams home and away). Most games are played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The Premier League is known for its high level of competition and is widely regarded as one of the best football leagues in the world. It features teams with a rich history such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea, among others. However, there's a point of clarification here: unlike some sports (for example, the NFL in American Football, or the NBA in Basketball), there isn't a "Premier League Finals". The champion of the Premier League is not decided by a playoff or a final game, but by the total points accumulated throughout the season. Each team earns 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and no points for a loss. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the league. In case of a tie in points, goal difference then goals scored are used to decide the champion. The importance of finishing at the top of the Premier League cannot be understated: Prestige: Winning the Premier League is a huge achievement that brings significant prestige and recognition. It's a sign of success and dominance in one of the most competitive football leagues in the world. Champions League Qualification: The top four teams in the Premier League qualify for the following season's UEFA Champions League, which is the most prestigious club competition in European football.
