National Women Inventors Month raises awareness about women's contributions to innovation despite facing barriers, including gender bias and limited access to funding and resources. Achieving Gender Equality through the Inclusion of Women Judges The presence of women in the judiciary holds significant importance for various reasons. It not only guarantees that the legal system represents and considers the entire population but also encourages and empowers future generations of female judges to pursue their aspirations. Female judges within the criminal justice system can become catalysts for change, leading to increased accountability. By bringing diverse perspectives and experiences, they enhance the judicial system's overall strength. Women in leadership positions disrupt networks of collusion and combat corruption. The representation of women in law enforcement and judicial institutions has been associated with more effective, victim-centric responses to crime. By supporting the development of women and female justice leaders, we can ensure that justice is delivered more effectively, and that all individuals in society, including women, experience fairness and equality under the law, ultimately benefiting everyone. Active participation of women, on equal footing with men, in all decision-making levels, is crucial for achieving sustainable development, peace, and democracy. Background Historically, gender equality in the judiciary has been imbalanced, but efforts to address this issue are evident, as demonstrated by the United Nations General Assembly's declaration of March 10 as the International Day of Women Judges. The General Assembly resolution, proposed by the State of Qatar, signifies a positive shift in this direction. Addressing gender inequalities is also central to UNODC's Strategy for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, a goal shared by the Global Programme for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration. The program aims to foster a culture of lawfulness worldwide by offering education and training, and promoting the full participation of women across all professional fields.

WOAW was founded by Mireille Goyer, a pilot and aviation enthusiast, in response to the low representation of women in the aviation industry. The event has been celebrated since 2010 and has grown significantly over the years, attracting thousands of participants and supporters worldwide. The main objectives of Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week are to: Increase awareness about the history and contributions of women in aviation and aerospace. Break down stereotypes and change perceptions about the roles women can play in these industries. International Women's Day, also known as International Working Women's Day, is celebrated on March 8th every year to promote women's rights, gender equality, and social and economic justice for all women worldwide. The day has its roots in the labor and women's rights movements of the early 20th century and has since become a global celebration of women's achievements and ongoing struggles in all spheres of life. The origins of International Women's Day date to the early 1900s, a time when women globally were beginning to organize and demand better working conditions, higher wages, and the right to vote. In 1908, women in New York City marched to demand better working conditions and voting rights. The following year, the first National Woman's Day was celebrated in the United States on February 28th, followed by the creation of International Women's Day in 1911, sponsored by Socialist International to honor the struggles of working women and promote women's rights and social justice. Since then, International Women's Day has been celebrated annually in countries worldwide, focusing on different themes and issues each year. These themes have included topics such as women's economic empowerment, gender-based violence, women's health, and the role of women in peace-building and conflict resolution. International Women's Day is as a public holiday in several nations.

In 1986, 14 states declared March as Women's History Month, and Congress declared the entire month of March 1987 National Women's History Month in perpetuity. A special Presidential Proclamation is issued annually, which honors American women's extraordinary achievements. Presidential Message 1980 President Jimmy Carter's Message to the nation designating March 2-8, 1980, as National Women's History Week. "From the first settlers who came to our shores, from the first American Indian families who befriended them, men and women have worked together to build this nation. Too often, the women were unsung, and sometimes their contributions went unnoticed. But the achievements, leadership, courage, strength, and love of the women who built America were as vital as that of the men whose names we know so well. As Dr. Gerda Lerner has noted, "Women's History is Women's Rights." – It is an essential and indispensable heritage from which we can draw pride, comfort, courage, and long-range vision." I ask my fellow Americans to recognize this heritage with appropriate activities during National Women's History Week, March 2-8, 1980. I urge libraries, schools, and community organizations to focus their observances on the leaders who struggled for equality—Susan B. Anthony Stone, Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Harriet Tubman, and Alice Paul. Understanding our country's true history will help us comprehend the need for full equality under the law for all our people. This goal can be achieved by ratifying the 27th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which states that "Equality of Rights under the Law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex."

ASSITEJ proposes a collaboration between international associations with different art forms related to live performances, which celebrate their World Days between March 20- 27. We invite you to participate in week-long celebrations as part of the very first World Performance Week. The week includes March 20th, ASSITEJ World Day of theatre for children and young people (and the campaign “Take a child to the theatre”), March 21st, UNIMA’s World Puppetry Day, and March 27th, ITI’s World Theatre Day, includes the IATC, IDEA, AITA/IATA and others. To take part, use the unifying logo, the ASSITEJ logo, and the Take a Child to the Theatre Today logo to promote the week. By uniting the activities of these international associations, while retaining the individual character of each day, we hope to strengthen key messages around cultural entitlement connected to the March campaigns, promoting the transformative power of the performing arts for children and adults worldwide, and supporting one another to reach our goals.

The World’s Greatest Shave began back in 1998 and is now one of Australia’s significant and most loved fundraising events. Each year the Leukemia Foundation sets aside an official week in March for this fundraiser (but you can hold one at your business or school anytime during the year). People of all ages will shave, color, or wax the hair on their head, chest, or face to support those surviving cancer. More than two million Aussies have taken part over the past two decades, with an estimated 37,5000 kilograms of hair removed! Leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma are types of blood cancer. Blood cancer and related disorders can develop in anyone, of any age, at any time. The Leukemia Foundation is the premier national charity dedicated to helping more Australians with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and related disorders survive their blood cancer and live a better quality of life.

The International Day of Zero Waste is dedicated to promoting sustainable consumption and production practices and raising awareness about the contributions of zero-waste initiatives to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The waste sector is a significant contributor to the global environmental challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. Each year, billions of tons of municipal solid waste and plastic waste enter ecosystems, while millions of tons of food are lost or wasted. Zero-waste initiatives can address these issues by promoting responsible waste management, minimizing waste generation, and preventing pollution. Adopting a zero-waste approach involves responsible production, consumption, and disposal in a closed, circular system. This includes designing products to be durable and using fewer resources, reducing pollution and waste throughout their life cycle. Consumers also play a crucial role by changing their habits, reusing and repairing products, and disposing of them properly. Achieving zero waste requires collective action at all levels. Governments, communities, industries, and stakeholders need to invest in waste management infrastructure, improve recovery systems, and support zero-waste initiatives through financing and policymaking. The Global Strategy for Sustainable Consumption and Production, established by the United Nations General Assembly, provides guidance for this transition by promoting sustainable consumption and production practices across all sectors by 2030.
