The focus takes into account the following: Agricultural development Food security Nutrition Sustainable food production Conservation of biodiversity Since 2017, Sustainable Gastronomy Day has been held annually on June 18.

Gay and Lesbian (LGBTQ+) Pride Month (1969): June

LGBTQ+ Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots in Manhattan, New York. This month, throughout the United States, pride parades, workshops, symposiums, and concerts focus on the LGBT experience. Memorials occur for those who lost the battle against HIV. The Stonewall Riot occurred at the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar, in Greenwich, New York, in June 1969. Before the Stonewall Riot, authorities raided gay and lesbian bars across the country under the impression that the said bars were violating the local liquor ban. Arrested and named in the dailies, many patrons experienced dire consequences. However, in June 1969, patrons of Stonewall Inn resisted police harassment, which led to a movement that encouraged outlawing practices against the LGBT community. In 1998, President Clinton signed Executive Order 13087 promoting equal opportunity for gays and lesbians via Federal government organizations. Proclamation 7316 was declared in June 2000, making Gay and Lesbian Pride Month officially recognized by the US government. On June 1, 2009, President Obama issued Proclamation No 8387, changing the name to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. The President noted the contributions of the LGBT community to the progress of anti-discrimination based on sexual orientation and the initiatives they promoted that curtailed the HIV pandemic.

German Chocolate Cake Day, Ntl.: June 11

National German Chocolate Cake Day is a day to commemorate the creator of the baking chocolate used in German chocolate cake: American Samuel German. German created the semi-sweet dark chocolate in 1852 while working for American Baker's Chocolate Company. Fast forward to 1957 when Mrs. George Clay published the first recipe using Baker's Chocolate to make a cake, dubbed the German Chocolate Cake, in honor of the creator of the key ingredient.

National Get Caught Listening Month is also known as National Audio Book Month. Recent studies have shown that one in every five American households listens to audiobooks. Get Caught Listening is a nationwide public service campaign intended to promote the joys of audiobook listening. A brand extension of the national public service Get Caught Reading campaign, Get Caught Listening communicates the pleasures of audiobook listening in all audio formats and promotes the value of the medium as a beneficial learning tool supporting literacy and education. The excitement of being a part of the inaugural campaign is expected to afford public figures the chance to show booksellers, librarians, and educators nationwide their support of the written word in audiobook format.

Emma Stokes picked up the event in 2013 and turned it into a worldwide event with activities in over 30 countries. Gingerbread Day, Ntl.: June 5

Christians have Gospel music, and Islam in North Africa has Gnaoua. The Gnaoua World Music Festival, also known as Festival Gnaoua et Musiques du Monde, is an annual celebration in the coastal town of Essaouira, Morocco. The festival explores and promotes the musical genre of Gnaoua and a variety of spiritual world music styles. The festival began in 1998 to celebrate the Gnaoua musical tradition and its influence. Gnaoua music has its roots in sub-Saharan Africa, and it was brought to Morocco centuries ago through the trans-Saharan slave trade. Over the years, it has evolved into a unique Moroccan musical genre known for its hypnotic rhythm and spiritual undertones. The Gnaoua people often are described as mystical musicians and storytellers, and their music plays a significant role in Moroccan culture. During the late June festival, Essaouira comes alive with music performances citywide. The festival features a mix of local Gnaoua musicians (known as Maâlems) and international artists, resulting in a fascinating fusion of styles. While Gnaoua music is the main highlight, the festival includes jazz, blues, pop, rock, soul, and global folk music performances, which can lead to some truly unique and exciting musical collaborations. One of the festival's most captivating aspects is the Lila, a traditional, all-night ritual concert that starts in the evening and goes on until dawn. Gnome Week: June 4-7

Belgium legend states that gnomes (or chouffes) brewed beers in Belgium called Brasserie d'Achouffe, where this famous beer originates. However, it was only in the 17th century that fishing as recreation gained momentum.
